The building currently occupied by Park Hotel & Apartments in Hull has a long and fascinating history; like the town of Hull itself, there's so much to learn for those of you who have an interest in the past!
Although Park Hotel & Apartments is now used for guest accomodation, previously it housed the Hulll College of Arts; but it's full history stretches all the way back to circa 1858 when it was built, when it was originally a private school called Thanet House. From 1867, the building was converted by the Port of Hull Society for use as their Sailor’s Orphan Institution. The orphanage was later sold by the Port of Hull Society in 1897, and in 1898 it opened as the Hull Municipal Technical School. (Credit - HistoricEngland)
